Privacy Policy — Uncovered

Uncovered ("the app", "we") is a personal loan and subscription tracker. We built it to be private by default: your financial information stays on your device. This policy explains exactly what data the app handles and when.

1. Data stored on your device

Everything you enter — loans (name, lender, principal, interest rate, term, dates, payment status, notes), subscriptions (name, plan, amount, cycle, renewal date), attached PDFs, and your settings — is stored only on your phone (in the app's private storage). We do not have an account system, and this data is never uploaded to us or anyone else. If you uninstall the app or clear its data, this information is gone (use the in-app Export to back it up yourself).

2. We do not collect analytics or advertise

The app contains no third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no trackers. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell or share your data.

3. AI document scanning (optional, Pro)

If you choose to use the optional "Scan a loan PDF" feature (a Pro feature), and only when you explicitly pick a file and tap Scan, the app sends the rendered pages of that single document you selected to our processing service, which forwards them to a third-party AI model (Google's Gemini API) to read the loan details and fill the form for you.

• This happens only on your action, per document. Nothing is sent in the background.
• The document is used only to extract the loan fields and is not stored by our service.
• Google processes the request under their API terms. We send only what is needed to read the document.
• If you never use this feature, nothing ever leaves your device.

4. Purchases

The optional one-time "Pro" unlock is processed by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment details; Google handles the transaction. The app only stores whether Pro is unlocked, on your device.

5. Notifications & permissions

• Notifications — to remind you before a payment or renewal is due. You can turn these off in Settings or system settings.
• Internet — used only for the optional AI scan (section 3) and Google Play Billing.
• Run at startup — to re-schedule your reminders after the phone restarts.
• Vibrate — for reminder notifications.

6. Children

The app is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13.

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
